Artist's text about the work:
My work “Eternal existence”, or “Eternal existence”, shows the term Abya Yala and how I perceive that its nuances are still woven in the present with what surrounds us, and especially in the city. In this way, the "other", in this case the invasive plants —which are eliminated, because they appear in places where a human did not plan them to be— that I caught on my way, are shown in 3 instances: through objects that I molded with clay from Ecuador and Peru, and on footage that I made of natural elements.
In the first, we see a plant trapped in the ground, and surrounded by blue fire that I made with alcohol (which I still have due to the pandemic). In the second, it is a different panorama, a protected invasive plant, surrounded by drawings of light that give it hope. I rescued it, and just like the bubbles that keep air that gives life, it has a round space that protects it, currently it is in a safe place. In the third one is complete and eternalized. The space that protected it, at this moment, surrounds her and complements her, they are no longer separated, nor far away. Its existence is complete.
In this way, the work is presented in its materiality as 4 prints, 3 on metal and one that invites you to watch the video at www.michelleulloa.com and to participate as part of the work (through my instagram account @michelleulloal or at www.compartida.info).
Thus, my work tries to expand by existing in various dimensions, geographies and times at the same moment, and giving people a way to include and perpetuate themselves.

Mi obra “Eternal existence”, o “Existencia eterna”, indaga el término Abya Yala y cómo percibo que sus matices se tejen aún en el presente con lo que nos rodea, y especialmente en la ciudad. De esta manera, lo “otro”, en este caso las malas hierbas —que son eliminadas, por estar en lugares donde un humano no planeó que estuvieran—... que agarré en mi camino, se muestran en 3 instancias: mediante objetos que moldeé con barros de Ecuador y Perú, y sobre filmaciones que realicé de elementos naturales.
En la primera, observamos una mala hierba atrapada por la tierra, y rodeada por fuego azul que realicé con alcohol (que aún conservo por la pandemia). En la segunda, evidenciamos un panorama diferente, una mala hierba protegida, rodeada por dibujos de luz que le brindan esperanza. A esta mala hierba la rescaté, y así como las burbujas que guardan aire que da vida, ella tiene un espacio redondo que la protege, actualmente está en un lugar seguro. En la tercera está completa y eternizada. El espacio que la protegía, en este momento, la rodea y la complementa, ya no están separados, ni lejos. Su existencia es cabal.
De esta manera, la obra se presenta en su materialidad como 4 impresiones, 3 sobre metal y una que invita a observar el video en www.michelleulloa.com y a participar siendo parte de la obra (mediante mi cuenta en instagram @michelleulloal o en www.compartida.info).
Así, mi obra intenta expandirse teniendo vida en varias dimensiones, geografías y tiempos en el mismo momento, y brindando a las personas una forma de incluirse y perpetuarse.
